The Global Play Foundation was established in 2005, as a result of a shared vision of four young professionals to be more actively involved in a philanthropic effort in the world that surrounds us. Since then, many friends who share the same dream of providing greater opportunities for boys and girls in developing nations by means of establishing programs associated with education and sports, have come on board and joined us in this effort.

In the past few years, we have worked hard to provide an effective and solid structure that allows us to face the development of projects with maximum guarantee of success. There have been several trips to Mali and other countries in the Sub-Saharan region of Africa, which has allowed us to learn more of the present situation and identify the most urgent needs.

Why the countries in Sub-Saharan Africa? The living conditions in the majority of the African countries, and particularly in this region (which are among the poorest in the world), makes emigration as the only way out for many of its inhabitants who are often forced to abandon their homes and their families in search of a better future.

That better future for boys and girls in Africa could come from a good education, which can lead to local opportunities and enable them to contribute their efforts to the development of their own communities and countries, without the need to abandon them. The Global Play Foundation aspires to promote welfare in disadvantaged societies, ultimately improving living conditions and opportunities for boys and girls; towards great hope for such countries in the years to come –towards great hope for all of us.

What is the project based on? During travels to Mali we have established collaborative agreements with many local communities. In the short term, the commitment made is to assist with developing school infrastructure and to provide school materials and medical assistance for students. In the mid and long term, the objective is to create lasting bonds and mutually enriching ties between local schools of Mali and Spain (and other countries such as the United States) , allowing the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
